European Cup 2012 boosts Dutch firms

Dutch companies have already won €100m-worth of orders in connection with the 2012 European football championships, which will take place in Poland and Ukraine, says engineering sector association FME-CWM.

Technical services firm Imtech, for example, has won a €67m contract to install climate regulation technology in two stadiums, while Vaderlande Industries has a €14m deal to build a baggage handling system for Kiev and Kharkov airports, the organisation says.
Many smaller deals have also been signed. ‘The demand for hardware and technology is still growing,’ a spokesman told news agency AFN.
