Gymnast, cyclist are sports stars of the year

All round cyclist Marianne Vos was named sports woman of the year at a star-studded ceremony in Amsterdam on Tuesday.

It is the second year in a row that Vos, who is just 22, has won the award. In February Vos continued her winning streak, taking the world cyclo-cross cycling title.

Male sports personality of the year is gymnast Epke Zonderland, 23, who won the silver in the men's high bar event at the gymnastics world championships in London.

Team of the year is the women's relay swimming team, who took gold in the 4x100 freestyle at the world championships in Rome.

Louis van Gaal was chosen by 51 fellow coaches as coach of the year. Van Gaal, now with Bayern Munich, took AZ of Alkmaar to the league title last season.
