It is not the people of this world who will take the initiative, I feel it has to be the goverments who need to take a stronger line with the people. Have you noticed that when something is law we all have to do it. I do my best for the world, but its so disappoinnting when my neighbour has absolutely no idea what I am talking about. So for these people we have to make it a law, just like the rubbish we have been told to re-cycle. When a piece of paper comes through the letterbox telling us that from next week we have to re-cycle our rubbish we all tend to follow suit. LMT ' Schagen By Lin Treadgold | November 30, 2009 4:59 PM You wake up and smell the coffee...what about 1901, oh that doesn't count. Don't you find it strange that with the global warming industry, the thing that will solve the problem would be more nuclear power plants. WHAT, and they say it so mater of factly...like solar, wind and then they tag on nuclear power as if to say that will help to save the world. Do you remember when that was a bad word?..it was around the time when "international corporation" was also a bad word and of course we see where that is taking us......yea lets build more nuclear power plants. Remember Follow The Money. By alanposting | November 30, 2009 10:13 PM ...and by the way was it not the coldest winter, last winter, in 12 years. I really don't like to bring up the facts because I really do think the global warming people have their hearts in the right place, but are being used for other reasons....and of course, as it always is, for money. By alanposting | December 1, 2009 10:43 AM Who cares which side is rhight, neither I say. YES man has made massive destruction to the planet. YES man has caused the extinction of thousands of life forms. YES man makes pollution at disturbing rates. MAYBE Mans waste has caused a shift in temperatures. YES the earth goes through thermal cycles along with magnetic which are FAR more dangerous/solar radiation. NO oil is not going to last forever. NO we do not need an automobile that can go twice the legal speed limit. YES you should get taxed by mile and weight, just like lorry drivers. YES we should reduce the number of humans in a sane one child rule, and/or adoption. To many humans trying to all have the gold ring, we can do it without war but then some just like wars??? Less humans=less needs=recoverable planet for all life forms. We could get there but we have BIG stones to overcome first. It's called evolution... By Paul MArtin | December 1, 2009 1:20 PM @alanposting, I totally agree with u mate!Did anyone check out the Climate-Gate issue??? By zen | December 1, 2009 1:56 PM @alanposting; Please don't be so cynical, climate change and global warming due to man's irresponsible use of resources is characetised by extreme weather events, and that includes the cold winters, extended warm periods, droughts, heavy rains, etc. A scan of news will show, floods in Jeddah and Cumbria, Typhoons in Phillipines, etc. and all at heightened levels. This is not about one "fact" but a pattern that should be clear, or do we have to wait until the dykes breach? By AC | December 1, 2009 4:35 PM "nuclear power" a band aid? Did I get that right? WHAT are you talking about! ...and its not that "people will try and make money out of any situation"...the money people are creating the situation not just benefiting. AC, your positions are not based on history...there have been ice ages and warming many many times in the earths history. Civilizations have come and gone because of climate change. Its the axis of the earth that keeps going back and forth VERY slowly. Yes it would be nice to change peoples wasteful habits and spread the wealth to poor countries, no one would disagree with that. The powers that be, want everything to be a mishmash, so we really can't dissect all the parts and see we are being used for their enrichment. By the way, what about the "hole" in the atmosphere that was getting bigger and bigger. You know all that gas from our deodorant and refrigerator cooling....well did it close?....strange we have not heard about that "hole" for awhile. AC, don't let them use you, just be aware they don't give a damn about you, its only power, money and position. Wouldn't you rather fly first class than coach? By alanposting | December 2, 2009 9:04 AM Actually, warm weather = less energy consumption = less pollution, looking at the positive side of a now irrevocable climate change problem, GLOBAL WARMING.) If our world leaders were really concerned, they would have done something much more drastic by now, A four day working week instead of five, and some job sharing would reduce pollution & help many of the unemployed. (If people were not so media-gullible, materialistic & selfish!) By stevie | December 4, 2009 12:22 AM Place your comments: |

Interesting that the 3 warmest Autumns were experienced in the last 5 years! And there are still those sceptics out there who say that global warming is a myth; wake up and smell the coffee!!
Every single person needs to take action through lifestyle change to make a difference.
It is predicted that climate change will affect the poorest areas most severly, let us not be responsible for suffering of others through our selfishness.
