Dutch McDonalds installs anti-robber sprayMonday 26 October 2009 A Rotterdam branch of the McDonalds fast food chain is installing equipment to spray robbers with a unique compound which will make it easier for the police to trace them, the Telegraaf reports on Monday. The spray can be detected with a special lamp, and can't be washed off skin or clothing, Ben Franken, who runs the snack bar on the city's Coolsingel, told the paper. Experiments with the spray in a number of city centre shops earlier in the year led to a sharp drop in robberies, Franken told the paper. The paper did not say how many times the McDonalds had been robbed. © DutchNews.nl
The sad truth is that stores may rightfully spend the extra money to help catch the thieves who will then get sentenced to "community service" (or less. it's only attempted murder thaty get's such a HARSH sentence here) By bet | October 26, 2009 1:24 PM Make'em eat nothing but Big Macs from now on...that will teach the scoundrels By Bobke | October 26, 2009 2:19 PM Hey Bet what do you mean it's only attempted murder that get's such a HARSH sentence here. What about the 2 water polo playing sisters who held another girl under the water until she nearly drowned and they got community service. What a strange strange country! By langer | October 26, 2009 3:20 PM Why trash the one of few places where i can get some food, that is not cold sandwich?! Plus if you want to bite something after 23.00 then better start "loving it!". No need to eat there the most fattening meals and every day, but it would suck a big time here in Holland if McD wouldnt be present. P.S. Where is more information on spray, who sprays and when? Sounds funny. Could use a dead smelly spray and earn the criminal complete isolation from society! By Jon | October 26, 2009 3:51 PM Bobke, That is for sure! Mcdonalds is the most revolting fastfood! By sandra | October 27, 2009 5:26 AM The anti robber spray McD use is just the regular sauce they use in their burgers I reckon . Its disgusting enough to keep anyone away.
