AZ draw against Arsenal in final minutes

A goal by AZ of Alkmaar in the third minute of injury time gave the Dutch club a much-needed 1-1 draw against England’s Arsenal in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Mendes da Silva’s goal gave AZ its second point in the competition from three matches.
Playing in front of their home crowd, AZ were without main sponsors on their shirts following the bankruptcy of DSB bank.
DSB and AZ owner Dirk Scheringa was not at the match, but the crowd gave him a standing ovation, singing the football anthem You’ll never walk alone, the Volkskrant reported on Wednesday.
