Oranje unbeaten to football World CupThursday 10 September 2009 The Dutch national football team qualified for the 2010 Fifa World Cup in South Africa with a 1-0 away win against Scotland on Wednesday evening. Oranje ended the qualifying groups round with a maximum 24 points from eight games. Dutch captain Giovanni van Bronckhorst told the Fifa website ending Scotland's dreams of reaching South Africa left him with a bitter-sweet feeling. 'Of course I feel sorry for Scotland,' the Feyenoord defender said. 'If there was any country who I wanted to be involved in the World Cup it was Scotland.' For a match report, click here Meanwhile, Poland has sacked its Dutch coach Leo Beenhakker following the national team's 3-0 loss against Slovenia, which virtually ended Poland's World Cup hopes.
