US press agency to court for royal photos

The state information office RVD is taking legal action against the American press agency AP for distributing photos of crown prince Willem-Alexander and his family.

AP’s pictures of the royal family skiing in Argentina were published by several Dutch newspapers including Trouw and the AD, reports Nos on Wednesday.
According to the RVD, this contravenes the media code in which it is stated that photos of the royal family can only be taken at fixed times.
The Dutch media have apologised for their actions and are not therefore being taken to court, says Nos.
