Delta Lloyd wants Amsterdam stock listing

Insurance group Delta Lloyd is preparing for a bourse listing on the Amsterdam stock exchange, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

Delta Lloyd’s chief Niek Hoek: ‘With an independent listing, we will take a new step appropriate to the development of Delta Lloyd Group. An IPO will support Delta Lloyd Group’s growth strategy, improve our strategic flexibility and further enhance our profile and brand…
‘An IPO would give us room to consider options in the consolidation we foresee in the Netherlands and Belgium’.
The announcement came as the company, part of the Aviva concern, published its half year figures, reporting an increase in net profit to €277m from €151m in the same period last year.
Although Delta Lloyd has started preparation for the bourse listing a final decision has not yet been made.
