€100m state subsidies for building projects

Housing minister Eberhard van der Laan has given an initial €100m in subsidies for housing projects that are at risk of being frozen because of the economic crisis, reports broadcaster Nos on its website on Wednesday.

Of the 211 local councils that applied for state aid, 155 were granted the cash for the construction of 15,000 homes, says Nos. The aim of the financial support is to limit unemployment in the building sector.
In total there is €395m available for building projects.
