More traffic jams outside the rush hour

The reduction in rush hour traffic jams continued in July although roads were increasingly busy outside the morning and evening rush hours, reports motoring organisation ANWB on Thursday.

According to the ANWB, congestion fell 12% in the morning rush hour and 17% in the evening this month compared to July 2008. But during the rest of the day congestion increased 10%.
The fall in rush hour traffic jams started in November last year.
The motoring organisation warns that Saturday is expected to be the busiest day of the summer on European roads because of the start of the holiday season in a number of countries.
