Maurits is most popular prince in Europe

Prince Maurits, the nephew of Holland’s reigning monarch queen Beatrix, has been voted Europe’s favourite prince in a poll by royalty magazine Vorsten Royale, reports the Telegraaf on Thursday.

Maurits scored almost 30% of the total votes, almost double the points won by the runner-up, Dutch crown prince Willem-Alexander.
Maurits’ victory was not a compelte surprise for Vorsten Royale’s Esther Wolswinkel. ‘Maurits is a genuine prince charming, always well-dressed, handsome and very sympathetic,’ she tells the Telegraaf.
The ‘sporty and modest’ Swedish prince Carl-Philip came in at number three followed by Britain’s prince William, reports the paper.
Prince Maurits (41) – who is the eldest son of Beatrix’s sister, princess Margriet – is married with three children and lives in Amsterdam.
