10% doctors earn over accepted norm (FD)
Some 650 medical specialists employed by teaching hospitals earn more than the €181,000 per year limit set down for public sector salaries, reports Thursday’s Financieele Dagblad.
According to a survey by the paper, some 10% of specialists earn more than the so-called Balkenendenorm which is based on ministers’ salaries.
Since 2006, teaching hospitals have been obliged to make top salaries public because they are financed by public funds.
