FC Twente qualifies for Champions League

FC Twente joined Alkmaar’s AZ in qualifying for next season’s Champions League competition at the weekend with a 3-0 victory over the league leaders.

Amsterdam’s Ajax saw its chance of overtaking Twente ebb away with a 4-0 loss to Rotterdam’s second side Sparta.
This means that for the first time in 50 years none of the traditional big three Dutch clubs – Ajax, PSV Eindhoven and Rotterdam’s Feyenoord – have finished in the top two of the premier league.
