Yuri van Gelder takes European rings title

Dutch gymnast Yuri van Gelder successfully defended his European title for the still rings in Milan this weekend, beating Ukraine's Oleksandr Vorobjov and Bulgaria's Jordan Jovtsjev.
'I gambled, and it was my most special finale ever,' Van Gelder told news agency ANP after opting for a simple dismount without any twists.
Van Gelder was European champion in 2005 and 2008 and took the world title in 2005.
