Aid minister wants fewer subsidy claims
Wednesday 15 April 2009
Aid minister Bert Koenders plans to reduce the number of development organisations which get government subsidies from 73 to 30, Nos tv reports on Wednesday.
The minister thinks the current situation leads to a fragmented approach to development projects. At the same time, the total amount of subsidies available will be cut from €525m a year to €425m, possibly rising to €500m, Nos tv reports.
