Staunchly orthodox Christian supporters of evangelical tv station EO have reacted angrily to statements by one of its most famous presenters who has apologised for telling viewers that God created the world in six days.

Andries Knevel made the comments during a recent tv show. Some two-thirds of the EO’s members are creationists.
The Dutch public broadcasting system is made up of a number of companies which all have a specific religious, political or social slant. Their airtime is allocated according to how many members they have.
