Prime minister Jan Peter Balkenende and junior defence minister Jack de Vries have made a two-day visit to Dutch troops in Afghanistan.
The trip was kept secret for security reasons until their departure from the region on Tuesday.
After talks with local leaders Balkenende said he is optimistic about the changes taking place in the country.

What has Afghanistan got to do with Holland?
Nothing to do with NATO, they have no history what so ever in the region, fact is countries like Holland and poland are rather sad, they would be stuck to USA's behind no matter what.
