Only 28% of crimes are reported

Only 28% of crimes are reported to the police, according to the latest figures from the national statistics office CBS on Monday.

Last year 25% of the population was the victim of a crime compared to 29% four years ago, the CBS says.
According to the CBS, car thefts are almost always (91%) reported while only 7% of sex crimes are taken to the police.
The figures also showed that younger people are less likely to report a crime unless the incident is car-related.
