One euro-cent petrol was computer error

An unmanned petrol station in the Noord-Brabant village of Genderen offered petrol at just one euro-cent a litre for a period this weekend, until a computer glitch was corrected.

A spokesman for the station’s owner Vollenhoven Olie said hundreds of litres of petrol were sold at the discount price. As word spread, cars queued up to take advantage of the special deal.
‘Most people were home in bed, so it could have been worse,’ the company’s Piet-Hein Bogaers told news agency AP.
