"Well educated women are more likely to give birth at home"... I'd say that well educated women are more likely to see the risks of a home birth and use their common sense to give birth in hospital.
Home birth is dangerous and this is the only industrialized nation to try and promote it.

Why in the worlds name would "well educated women" give birth at home? I strongly believe it is the other way around. After a few years of living here I am still amazed about the poor quality of medical care that exists in NL in general and shocked about the fact that women are actually encouraged by the state to give birth at HOME! That is insane considering the number of complications that can arise and that a midwife cannot solve (I sometimes wonder if the doctors can...). I sincerely consider going back home to give birth as it seems a challenge to even get a reference to a gynecologist from the huis arts. Horrible!

I think it make sense to give birth in home. The kind of doctors in Netherland, I guess well educated women are sensible enough to give birth in home.

They just say "well educated women" to encourage them so they feel proud for giving birth at home and the indicator doesn't drop any further

I think they give birth at home because if their case is normal then they have to pay the fee of using facilities at the hospital + have to go home right after that.
