Schiphol airport hit by flight tax

The number of people using Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport is down by 525,000 since the introduction of an extra tax on flying on July 1, the Telegraaf reports on Monday, quoting preliminary figures.


By contrast, the number in Germany’s Weeze airport, just south of Arnhem, is up 300%.
Dutch people travelling from Brussels airport is up 74%.
The flight tax has added €11.25 to flights up to 2,500 km and €45 for longer journeys.
