Socialists, SGP urge Sunday trading stop

MPs from the Socialist party and fundamentalist Christian SGP have introduced their own draft legislation calling for major changes to the Sunday shopping laws, the NRC reports on Monday.

The parties are angry at the way some local authorities use a loophole in the current Sunday trading laws which allow shops to be open in tourist areas. Sunday shopping is available in one out of every three towns, the SP and SGP say.
