AZ return to top of football premier league

AZ of Alkmaar returned to the top of football's premier league after an impressive 2-0 home win in the snow against Amsterdam's Ajax on Sunday.

NAC Breda are in second place after drawing 1-1 with NEC of Nijmegen at home on Saturday.

AZ and NAC both have 26 points but AZ has the better goal average.

Ajax are third, one point off the lead, followed by FC Groningen who received a 3-0 thrashing by Willem II in Tilburg on Sunday.

Rotterdam's Feyenoord continued their revival with a 3-1 home victory over ADO Den Haag on Sunday.

PSV of Eindhoven, fifth, demolished Heracles of Almelo 4-0 on Saturday.
