Work to restart on Rijksmuseum

Building work on Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum is due to begin again in mid-November now that four companies have won new contracts to finish the museum’s renovation.

Work on the project, which began in 2003 and will not be finished before 2013, was halted earlier this year because the only contractor bidding for the work, construction firm BAM, was some 40% over budget.
BAM is one of the companies which has now won a new contract.
