Legal action against Fortis mounts
Thursday 16 October 2008
Minor shareholder protests against the split-up and partial nationalisation of Fortis continue to grow on Thursday, with a group of 10 investors issuing a writ against three Fortis directors for damages running into millions of euros.
'The managers said that things were going well with Fortis but they knew it was not okay,' the investors' lawyer Hendrik Jan Bos says in Thursday's NRC.
Fortis' share price has fallen 95% this year, the paper says.
Shareholders lobby group VEB is also mounting legal action against Fortis.
