Temp agencies must find jobs

Temporary staffing agencies can do more to help people into jobs and should be able to find work for 37,500 people in 2009.

This is the conclusion of a report by a government commission which was presented to social affairs minister Piet Hein Donner on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the AD newspaper, the report recommends making money available from the government and training funds so that temp agencies can provide more schooling and training.
Meanwhile, revenues of ABU, the association of temporary staffing agencies, fell by 4% in the four weeks to September 7, compared with a 5% fall in the previous period, reports news agency Reuters on Tuesday.
The number of hours worked fell 8% in the same period, unchanged from the previous period.
