New homes take longer to build
Tuesday 09 September 2008
The time between a building licence being granted and residents getting the key to their new home has stretched from 14 months in 1995 to 22 months last year, says the national statistics office CBS.
There are big regional differences too, says the CBS. Some 91% of homes in the northern province of Groningen are ready within two years while in Zuid-Holland the figure is 58%.
