YouTube clip leads to arrest

A video clip of a petrol station robbery posted by the police on YouTube has led to the arrest of a suspect, Leiden police reported on Tuesday.

Over 40,000 people watched the video and four tips eventually led to the arrest of a 27-year-old local man.
It was the first success since the regional police force introduced its own YouTube channel in July.
Police said the aim is to involve more young people in helping to help solve crimes. Police requests for information on the radio or television tend to reach a much older audience.
