More threats against politicians

The number of threats made against ministers and MPs reached to 225 in the first six months of this year, compared with 267 over 2007 as a whole, news agency ANP reported on Friday.

Geert Wilders, leader of the anti-immigration party PVV, gets most threats.
Many of the threats came from school pupils, police spokeswoman Mariette Frencken said. ‘When you question them, they say ‘I did write I would cut his head off, but I did not mean it’,’ Frencken said. ‘ People appear to think it is normal to threaten someone.’
A perpetrator has been identified for over 50% of the threats made so far this year
