The start of the Friesian solar-powered boat race was delayed on Monday because of strong winds.

Some 40 boats from nine countries are taking place in the event – a week-long race around the 11 cities of Friesland. The Delta Lloyd-backed team from Delft University won the preliminary event at the weekend.
