Retailer Macintosh issues profit warning

Retail group Macintosh on Friday issued a profit warning for the coming year, saying the downturn in consumer confidence was beginning to have an effect.

Macintosh operates the Halfords, Belcompany, Kwantum and Scapino brands and recently took over shoe chain Brantano. Last year the company turned over nearly €25m in the first six months.
According to the NRC this year’s first half sales have improved, but this is due to the acquisition of Brantano.
