Iranian students hit by bank block

ABN Amro bank is blocking money transfers from Iran, forcing Iranian students to go to Belgium and Germany to withdraw cash, according to Socialist Party MPs.


Foreign minister Maxime Verhagen says the bank is acting in accordance with UN security council resolutions. Iranian students already need special clearance to study in the Netherlands.
