Chef turns down million euro job

Dutch chef Toine Smulders, voted the world’s best in May, has turned down a job offer which would have made him the world’s best paid chef, says news service ANP on Tuesday.

He was offered $1.2m a year as personal chef to a Dubai businessman but prefers to stay in the Gelderland village of Tolkamer where he owns the Villa Copera restaurant.
