Arts council plans rejected

The arts council has been sent back to the drawing board by culture minister Ronald Plasterk after he rejected its wish to boost spending on the arts by 10% over the next four years.
‘I have asked the council to fulfil its remit within the existing financial framework,’ Plasterk told ANP. The arts spending budget is fixed at €244.5m
