Job seeker total hits record low

Thursday 17 April 2008

The number of people actively looking for work is at a record low, reports news agency ANP on Thursday.

Figures from the CWI job centres show a drop of 12,000 in March, bringing the total to 441,000. This is 5.8% of the working population, the lowest ever figure.

The number of unemployed dropped in all age groups, says ANP, with the largest decline in the under-27s.
