Consumer spending up 3% in February

Annual consumer spending rose just over 3% in February (adjusted to take the leap year and price fluctuations into account) says the national statistics office CBS on Thursday.


The amount spent on items such as clothes, computers and cars was up 5.7% in February, says the CBS. Spending on services was 2.8% higher mainly due to changes in health insurance.
