Wages should rise 3.5% to 4.5%

Wages should rise by 3.5% to 4.5% this year to ensure spending power does not decrease, manufacturing and services industry trade union De Unie said on Friday.

Higher inflation, an increase in local taxes and the effects of cabinet wage policy all require compensation, news agency ANP reported the union as saying.
