Top clubs sidelined by police strikes

The crunch game between football premier league leader PSV of Eindhoven and second-placed Amsterdam club Ajax was postponed on Sunday because of a police strike.

The league's other top game between AZ of Alkmaar and Rotterdam's Feyenoord was also postponed for the same reason.

The police went on strike after a 13-hour meeting between unions and the home affairs minister on Friday night failed to resolve a long running pay dispute despite .

FC Groningen capitalised on the disruption, beating Willem II of Tilburg away 2-1on Saturday to move into third spot. NAC Breda are fourth, having lost on Saturday away to SC Heerenveen 3-0.
