Second airline quits Maastricht over tax

Airline Corendon is quitting Maastricht airport and moving to Liège over the border in Belgium because of the imposition of the new tax on air travel. Italian budget airline Volariaweb has also made the move.

Earlier this week, the courts gave the green light to the tax which adds €11.25 to short haul and €45 to flights of over 2,500 km.
The tax is adding an average 20% to the price of a holiday, Corendon directory Atilay Uslu told news agency ANP
