Reprieve for gay Iranian teenagerFriday 14 March 2008 Mehdi Kazemi, the gay Iranian teenager refused refugee status in the Netherlands because he first made a claim in the UK, has been given a temporary reprieve. Britain now says his case will be reconsidered when the Netherlands deports him back to Britain because of concerns that he could be hanged if removed to his homeland. Britain has been under pressure to review the case since the Dutch ruling. © DutchNews.nl
Hi! This report that gays are hung in Iran coincides with the remark Iranian President Ahmadinejad made recently while visiting the U.S. When asked about homosexuals in Iran, he replied: "There are no homosexuals in Iran!". Now I understand why he was so certain. RWA By R. Amos | March 16, 2008 4:51 AM I find all of this particularily interesting in light of the Geert Wilders "film" controversy. If you're caught with a bible in Iran, the punishment is at least lashing or caning and can be death. I don't understand why the Dutch government would give any credence to a government like that of Iran. Iran wants the rest of the world to be tolerant of Muslims, but they are tolerant of no one BUT Muslims. You can't be gay in Iran, you can't be Christian in Iran, etc. While I don't understand homosexuality, I don't think death is the solution. I hope that if this young man is deemed no to be a threat that the government of the UK gives him a chance to live. By Tim Lee | March 17, 2008 10:12 AM

I agree with the action taken above. The boy should be allowed to stay in UK, and/or Netherlands
