Parking charges earn big money

The Netherlands' local councils earned €61m from car parking fees in 1990 but that figure has now gone up almost 10-fold, reported Friday’s Financieele Dagblad.

‘The proceeds have become a serious source of income,’ Rick Warnar of advice bureau Denion told the paper.
