No more loud phone calls on trains

Talking loudly on a mobile phone in the train has to stop, says Dutch Rail director Aad Veenman.

He told Tuesday's De Pers that conductors must ask passengers not to shout when using their mobiles and hopes other passengers will do the same.

I cannot agree more. Ban the mobile phone on public transport, in cafe and in restaurants. The worst are the people who have the manners to go outside to take the call and then leave the cafe door open.

The technology exists to block mobile phone signals. I understand it is not expensive and easy to install. So ... end of...

An unworkable idea. Train conductors can't even seem to control people playing music on trains, never mind stopping people from talking on their phones.
