Misconduct more common among notaries
Friday 14 March 2008
In 2007, 92 notaries and trainee notaries were found guilty of misconduct, compared with just 20 seven years ago, tv current affairs show Nova reported on Thursday evening.
The number of complaints made against notaries is also up, from 175 in 1992 to 457 last year.
‘Notaries are caught between their professional role and the free market which politicians have forced on them,’ law professor Wilbert Kolkman tells the Volkskrant.
