Iran condemns Fitna film as 'horrible'

Friday 28 March 2008

Iran has condemned the anti-Koran film released by right-wing Dutch MP Geert Wilders on Thursday evening as ‘horrible’ and ‘blasphemous’ reports ANP news agency on Friday.

A spokesman for the Iranian foreign affairs minister has called on the Dutch government and the European Union to stop ‘this dreadful action’, said ANP.

In his statement spokesman Mohammed Ali Hosseini warned of repercussions but did not give details.

In the run up to yesterday’s internet publication of Fitna, members of Iran’s parliament called for breaking diplomatic and economic ties with the Netherlands. But the strongly Islamic government has so far ignored the calls, said ANP.

A spokesman for the Indonesian foreign ministry said the film was misleading and racist, ANP reported. Indonesia, a former Dutch colony, is the biggest Muslim country in the world.

How is it misleading when all words were coming from the Quran itself and by Radical Muslims? I heard and saw the Iranian president and other radicals like him call for the destruction and murder of Jews and non believers of Islam and that one day you intend to rule the world. With my own eyes I saw it come out of your own mouths of you Islamists radicals, and if anything, I thank Geert Wilders for sharing this information for us to be able to protect ourselves from radicals like you!

I agree with the political powers in Iran. This film is "horrible". I think the content is absolutely disgraceful. It's a crime that we live in a world where such crimes against the human race take place. My hope is that this medley of atrocities will serve as an eye-opener for people of all religions all over the world. we need to stop arguing about our differences and find some common ground so we can all live in harmony on this planet. Otherwise, WE ALL LOSE!!!
