Wednesday 19 March 2008

The Netherlands exported four billion plant bulbs last year, 5% more than in 2006, said national statistics office CBS.

Of those, almost one billion went to the US. Half the exported bulbs were tulips and 25% were gladioli.

I am back in the US for now and each time I see a beautiful bunch of tulips for sale, my heart longs to be back in the Netherlands. Now if only I saw them in abundance like I do in Holland, then it would just be perfect!
