Chinese pressure refugee centres

Emergency accommodation for asylum seekers is full because of a mass influx of Chinese refugees, the Volkskrant reported on Friday.

Over the past 10 days, some 600 Chinese nationals have reported at the Ter Apel reception centre, all of whom already live in the Netherlands.

The immigration service IND says a rumour may be doing the rounds that it is now simple to get a residency permit.
