Dutch lawyer looks into Natalee civil case

Dutch lawyer Bram Moszkowicz has been asked by the mother of missing US teenager Natalee Holloway to investigate launching a civil case against Joran van der Sloot, the top lawyer told TV show Nova on Friday night.

Moszkowicz said Beth Twitty had asked him to look into whether Van der Sloot was guilty of commiting an ‘unlawful act’ which could lead to a financial claim against him.
Her decision to bring in Moszkowicz follows the decision by the court of appeal on Curacao not to re-arrest Van der Sloot in connection with the girl’s disappearance, the lawyer said.
The court ruled that the secret recordings of Van der Sloot confessing he was with the girl when he died and that he had asked a friend to dispose of her body did not consitute enough new evidence. Van der Sloot has twice been arrested and released.
The court also said it did not rule out Van der Sloot suffering from some sort of personality disorder, making his statements less believable, the Telegraaf reported. However the Aruban public prosecution department is continuing to investigate his role in the girl’s disappearance, the Telegraaf said on Saturday.
