Corporate Express does well in the US

Office supplies group Corporate Express booked turnover growth of 3% on its US activies in the last three months of 2007, ending years of decline.

Full year group sales totalled €5.63bn, compared with €5.5bn in 2006. Net profit rose from €122m to €178m, boosted by the sale of its ASAP software unit to Dell.
During the earnings presentation on Thursday, CEO Peter Ventress declined to comment on rumours that the company is in talks with US sector peer Staples, saying that the company was confident in following its own course.
