Industrial output falls sharply

Industrial production in the Netherlands fell sharply in October, reports national statistics agency CBS on Friday.

Output fell by 1.2% compared with a rise of 0.4% in September. In the first nine months of 2007 output rose by between 2% and 6%.
The CBS also reports that industrial sector sales rose in October. The annual turnover growth of 13% is due to the sharp rise in retail prices.
