2007 set to be warmest year on record

If it gets warmer during the day on Thursday as forecast, 2007 will be the warmest year on record with an average temperature of 11.3 degrees Celsius, says KNMI meterologist Rob Sluijter in Thursday’s Volkskrant.


The previous record was set in 2006 when the average temperature reached 11.2 degrees. The average annual temperature since records began in 1706 is 9.8 degrees.
